The Moore Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA 19380

The Chester County Hospital NICU team understands how hard it can be to have a baby in the NICU. We have gathered a list of resources to help families in need of supplies to care for their baby as well local community resources that provide help with child care, food and housing.

Chester County Community Resource Directory

  • Maintains an updated list of local community organizations in Chester County that provides families with help obtaining baby clothes, baby furniture, toys, clothes for adults and children, diapers

Mom’s House of Phoenixville

  • Provides free daycare (ages 3 months to 5 years old) for low-income single parents while they are pursuing their full-time education 
    • Mother and father can be students in high school, GED program, technical school and college eligible 
    • Center provides meals, clothing, diapers and other essentials for the children
    • Offers a graduate program for parents who have already graduated from school and are in need of child care. Child care is provided at a reduced rate.

Coatesville Center for Community Health

  • Provides the following agencies for help in Chester County under one roof: 
    • Chester County WIC Program 
    • Domestic Violence Center: 24 hour hotline for victims of Domestic Violence 
    • Family Service of Chester County
      • Counseling – Income based counseling for families, couples, and individuals 
      • ConnectPoints – Help with housing placement 
      • Project ONE – HIV/AIDS case management, prevention education and referrals
    • Maternal and Child Health Consortium

Chester County Food Bank

WIC (Women, Infants and Children Program) 

WIC is a supplemental nutrition program that provides assistance to breastfeeding mothers and may provide infant formula to families.  Please complete this pre-application to check eligibility criteria. Please be sure to talk with our social worker if you need any assistance completing the pre-application.

MA (Medical Assistance) 

If you need health insurance for your infant, please apply for medical assistance using this link. Please be sure to talk with our social worker if you need any assistance completing the application. 

SSI (Social Security Benefits for Newborns)

Some infants who are born at low birth weights can qualify for SSI. Our NICU social worker will be sure to help families determine if their infant qualifies for this benefit. 

Linda's Little Peanuts Pantry

A food pantry located in the NICU parent lounge that NICU families can utilize.
