Following your delivery at Chester County Hospital, a nurse will escort you and your baby to one of our private maternity suites. Our Mother and Baby Pavilion consists of 24 private patient rooms on the second floor of the Lasko Tower - the same floor as our current Labor and Delivery Unit and the CHOP-affiliated Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This newly designed space is where you and your infant will spend the remainder of your stay.
The ample amenities available include a sofa that converts to a bed for overnight visitors, a nutrition center where guests can help themselves to refreshments around-the-clock, European-style bathrooms, large rooms filled with natural light, and, of course, the caring and clinically competent support of our team of nurses. Each room was designed to address not only the comfort of our patients and guests, but also their safety and well-being. Although siblings are welcome to visit during the day, they may not stay overnight due to safety concerns.
We encourage our mothers to have their babies "room in" with them during their stay. It is beneficial to have one support person stay overnight with you to help. This allows parents to become comfortable and confident in their ability to care for the baby while they have the care and support of their nurse close by. A nursery area is also available for observation and certain procedures.

About Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
In the event of complicated or high-risk pregnancies, our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is located in the heart of our Maternity Unit to improve the health outcome of the baby and provide peace of mind for expecting parents. Led by a team of neonatologists from The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia that are on staff at Chester County Hospital, our NICU is certified as a Level III NICU, the highest in Chester County. The unit administers to the specialized needs of infants who require advanced care upon birth.
