Clinical Instructor Department Orientation
Non CCH UPHS RNs Clinical Instructor Rotating
All clinical instructors must go through the Chester County Hospital Clinical Instructor Onboarding Process, even if they are UPHS employees.
Important:
If you are supervising students in a different specialty from your usual place of employment, you should take the appropriate RN PennChart Class. For example, you are a staff RN in ED, or L&D, or OB, or OR, or out-patient clinic, but will be clinical adjunct on med surg or telemetry, you should attend PennChart class for in-patient RN.
Your clinical area has a different view from the med surg/tele units.
All clinical instructors must obtain a Chester County Hospital ID badge.
Will use their current network login credentials for PennChart.
Use Notes to indicate you are supervising a student nurse. Use the cosign function.
Omnicell: Your Omnicell log on won’t work at Chester County Hospital. Chester County Hospital uses a different version of Omnicell from the downtown entities and you are not listed in the Chester County Hospital Active Directory. If clinical instructors need to attend PennChart training they will complete Omnicell access paperwork in the class. If they will not be attending PC training – they must follow the steps for Omnicell training in knowledge link, and submit the Omnicell verification statement to the Chester County Hospital Student/Faculty Coordinator.
