A Holter Monitor is an ECG that detects abnormal heart rhythms by continually recording your heartbeat up to 24-48 hours. The small, portable device is attached to your chest by five adhesive electrode patches. The monitor is worn for 24 hours during activities of daily living. You will keep a log to document any symptoms, and the time that they occur. After you return the Holter Monitor device to Chester County Hospital, the physician analyzes the electronic results to determine if any abnormal heart rhythms occurred, and if they are associated with any of your symptoms.
