Chester County Hospital Receives 2023 Press Ganey Human Experience Pinnacle of Excellence Award®

Chester County Hospital has been named a 2023 Human Experience (HX) Pinnacle of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey, the global leader in healthcare experience solutions and services. This award recognizes the implementation of best patient care practices and is part of Press Ganey's annual ranking of the top hospitals and health systems in the country, according to performance in patient experience. This award also signifies the best practices businesses should consider implementing regarding patient care in the new year.

As a winner of the Press Ganey HX Pinnacle of Excellence Award®, Chester County Hospital has been ranked in the top 5% of healthcare providers in delivering patient experience for the last three years.




Chester County Hospital Receives 2024 HAP Achievement Awards

Chester County Hospital has been honored among its peers with a 2024 Achievement Award from The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) and is one of 13 hospitals across the state to be acknowledged. The awards recognize hospitals and health systems that are taking innovative approaches to strengthening safety and quality of care, enhancing operations and patients’ experience, and partnering with their communities to address public health needs. Chester County Hospital received the Excellence in Care Award for their initiative Improving Postpartum Outcomes and Decreasing Health Care Disparities in Hispanic Patients. The Excellence in Care Award celebrates hospitals' and health systems' innovative approaches to improving the quality of care for patients and the community. 

When receiving the award, Jennifer Cohen, MD, MMSc, Medical Director, Quality and Safety, Maternal Child Health at Chester County Hospital said: "I greatly appreciate our Women's Health team for recognizing a disparity in care and working tirelessly to address it. There were a lot of barriers that needed to be climbed over and this team took those challenges head on."

Nationally Recognized for Commitment to Providing High-Quality Care for Chest Pain

The American College of Cardiology’s Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI Award.Chester County Hospital received The American College of Cardiology's Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI for its demonstrated expertise and commitment to treating patients with chest pain. Chester County Hospital was awarded the accreditation based on rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.

"It's gratifying seeing Chester County Hospital recognized for our continued commitment to delivering quality care and improving patient outcomes," said Timothy Boyek, MD, Medical Director of the Chest Pain Center at Chester County Hospital. "Our recognition is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of our emergency services, heart and vascular care team of nurses, and medical staff demonstrating their ability to provide exceptional heart care for the Chester County community."

Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), also known as coronary angioplasty, is a non-surgical procedure that opens narrowed or blocked coronary arteries with a balloon to relieve symptoms of heart disease or reduce heart damage during or after a heart attack. Hospitals that have earned ACC Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation have proven exceptional competency in treating patients with heart attack symptoms and have primary PCI available 24/7.

 



Grand Opening: New Ob/Gyn Clinic

In Fall 2023, Chester County Hospital celebrated the grand opening of its new Ob/Gyn Clinic. The new space, which was fully funded by philanthropy, now has five exam rooms and two new consult rooms and provides better accessibility and space to accommodate new patients.

The Ob/Gyn Clinic offers a variety of services to the community including reduced-rate gynecology care, affordable prenatal care, annual exams, childbirth delivery plans, and more.

The Encore Shop Celebrates 50th Anniversary with a Generous Donation to Chester County Hospital

The Encore Shop, a local upscale consignment shop located in Kennett Square, PA, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary by presenting Chester County Hospital with a generous donation of $300,000 for the Chester County Hospital Foundation. The check presentation took place during a community Open House celebrating the shop's milestone.

The consignment shop is a project of the Kennett Square Women's Auxiliary of Chester County Hospital, and each year they raise thousands of dollars to benefit a variety of patient programs. Throughout its 50 years of giving back, The Encore Shop has raised over $5 million for the hospital, making a lasting impact on healthcare in the community.

"The Encore Shop continues to thrive fifty years after its opening," said Carol Duncan, President of the Kennett Square Branch of the Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital. "The staff and volunteers are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this ongoing legacy to our community and Chester County Hospital."


The Encore Shop presents Chester County Hospital with a check for $300,000.

The Encore Shop presented a $300,000 donation to the Chester County Hospital Foundation. Accepting the donation were: Susan Kelly, Vice-President of Development; Carol Duncan, President of the Kennett Square branch of The Women's Auxiliary; and her husband, Michael Duncan, President and CEO of Chester County Hospital.
