We are pleased to share with you our 2013 Community Benefit Report. This annual publication highlights the various ways our hospital serves the residents of Chester County, while fulfilling the requirement of supplementing our federal 990 form.

Each year, our Community Benefit Report helps us validate our non-profit status by demonstrating ways in which we provide low-cost or free programs and services. Our mission to provide medical care to all people regardless to their ability to pay is considered charitable care.

This year, the publication focuses on the thorough Community Health Needs Assessment survey that we helped lead and our resulting Implementation Plan, as well as our overall economic impact, our engaging volunteer initiatives, and our extensive wellness outreach efforts.

We are also providing many examples of how individual employees at the hospital are extending our reach into the community, the region and beyond the area. From organizing blood drives to assisting with the hurricane relief efforts, we are proud to support and acknowledge their good work.

This edition of the report covers fiscal year 2013, the year prior to the start of our relationship with Penn Medicine. We look forward to all the additional benefits we will be able to share as a result of joining the health system in the years to come.
