At Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital's Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine at the Fern Hill Medical Campus, we offer comprehensive outpatient evaluations and treatment plans designed to meet the unique needs of our patients. Our team consists of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist specifically trained to provide specialized care in the areas of speech, language, cognition, voice, and swallowing. We work towards improving the patient’s overall quality of life in one or more of these areas, depending on the patient’s distinct needs.
Following an evaluation, a collaborative treatment plan is developed utilizing patient specific goals of care. The treatment plan may include therapeutic exercises, compensatory techniques/strategies, diet modifications and guidelines, and a home therapy program to promote carryover of skills.
We also offer outpatient Video Swallow Studies, which are completed at Chester County Hospital. These studies are completed by a certified radiologist and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to assess a patient’s swallow functioning. A swallow study can be scheduled by calling the radiology scheduling department at 610-431-5131.
All outpatient speech therapy services, including video swallow studies, require a physician’s prescription.
