We need your help protecting our most critical patients so they can avoid unhealthy contamination. If you have a fever, cough, cold or rash, please do not visit the Critical Care Unit.
Hand Washing
Washing your hands with soap and water is the best way to prevent the spread of germs. Remember that CCU patients are particularly susceptible, so please wash your hands each time you enter and exit the room for a visit. Washing your hands
before and after patient contact helps prevent the spread of infection.
Drug Resistant Infections
When patients have infections that can be spread by contact with others, the unit will initiate isolation protocols to protect the patient, visitors and caretakers.
Isolation
Chester County Hospital provides special supplies, including yellow cover gowns, gloves and masks, near the room for the use of all staff and visitors. Gloves, gowns and masks, if indicated, should be worn when entering the room. Remove these before leaving the room and clean hands immediately with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
