Don Parsons, and his sons, Jerry and Richard, founded Communications Test Design, Inc. (CTDI) in the family's West Chester, PA garage in 1975. From its inception, the company has fostered a culture that supports family values and service to the community.
Following the example set by their parents, Don and Elizabeth, the Parsons children continue to cultivate a philanthropic philosophy in their family and at CTDI. CTDI President and COO, Leo Parsons remembers, "When we were kids, our parents were always thinking of ways our family could help others." Throughout the years, the Parsons family members and CTDI have made Chester County Hospital a priority in their community philanthropy. CTDI Chairman and CEO, Jerry Parsons notes, "We feel it is important to support the hospital in the community where our families and employees reside."
In addition to the dedication of Christine Parsons Bendinelli, a member of the Board of Trustees of The Chester County Hospital Foundation, contributions from the Parsons family and CTDI have supported an array of services offered by SHiNE to help give every patient every advantage in navigating their cancer care. Christine, as one of the leaders of the SHiNE committee, has helped raise awareness and funding for these important patient resources and amenities at The Abramson Cancer Center at Chester County Hospital.
Living with cancer doesn’t mean that cancer has to define how you live. Patient and donor, Kathy R., reflected on the impact SHiNE has had on her life, “SHiNE and my nurse navigator are never far from my thoughts. My nurse navigator was remarkable - guiding me every step of the way through my entire experience with breast cancer. Our donation to SHiNE was made in honor of her. The materials and services SHiNE provides to the navigators enable them to educate patients about their diagnosis and helps them regain a more positive self-image. This can make a world of difference in their patient experience. The services I received courtesy of SHiNE were wonderful, but the time and emotional support survivors receive are invaluable. Thank you SHiNE!"
The Chester County Hospital community is grateful to the Parsons family and CTDI for their steadfast support of SHiNE and Abramson Cancer Center at Chester County Hospital. To Learn More about SHiNE, or Get Involved, CLICK HERE! >>
