Grateful to have such an outstanding local hospital and medical staff so close to where they live, Curt and Karen Fitchett wanted to give back.
They have chosen to celebrate Karen’s "cancer free" anniversary each April and during that time each spring they reflect on the difficult journey that began in mid-November 2015 at The Abramson Cancer Center at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. "We were so grateful to be able to go to the Kennett Square, PA facility to receive chemotherapy and for doctor’s visits. The staff was fantastic and the atmosphere was wonderful for the situation we were in."
Curt and Karen also expressed the significance of having a cancer care coordinator to help them navigate the overwhelming and multifaceted journey that they were faced with.
"One of the bright spots throughout our cancer journey was the hospital’s very own Cindy Brown, BSN, RN, CN-BN. She was absolutely fantastic, exceeding every expectation and providing a level of service that we characterize as best in class. In addition to coordinating and facilitating our activities with a number of different doctors and laboratories, our nurse navigator, Cindy, also provided practical advice as we transitioned from one phase of the treatment program to another. Her medical knowledge and experience, familiarity with hospital processes and protocol, and sense of urgency, passion, and compassion, were remarkable.
We donate to the hospital so others may benefit from the same world-class care we were fortunate to have received.”
Chester County Hospital is grateful for the Fitchett’s support and positive feedback which will help inspire our physicians, team members, and patients. Their support will help benefit others in the community who are seeking life-saving care.
