Q: What happens to my items if they aren't sold and I leave them?
A: Unclaimed items become the property of The Encore Shop You may request a donation receipt. Some items may be priced and placed on the sales floor again. In that case, 100% of the sales price is donated to Chester County Hospital.
Q: When will I get my check for my consignment?
A: Checks are printed the first week of each month for items that sold the previous month. You will receive a summary of items sold. All checks will be held for pickup at the store for 60 days and then mailed.
Q: How do I know which of my items have sold?
A: Consignors with valid email addresses are able to check the status of their items online. NOTE: Only the items sold in the current month are displayed. Once a check is printed, the online information is cleared. You will receive a detailed summary when your check is mailed
Q: May I return an item purchased at The Encore Shop?
A: As all items are in the shop on a consignment basis, we are unable to offer returns or exchanges. Once an item is sold, the consignor is credited with the sales price, and the Encore shop would be unable to recover the price of that item returned.
Q: Who prices my items?
A: Volunteers work with trained managers to assist consignors in pricing their items.
Q: Why do you limit the number of items that I would like to consign?
A: The Encore Shop has limited space. At certain times, there might be an abundance of some items. In that case, we will limit the number of items consigned in order to be fair to all.
Q: It is January and I would like to consign some spring clothing.
A: Due to space limitations, all items consigned must be in season and in current style.
Q: How do I become an Encore volunteer?
A: All volunteers at the The Encore Shop are members of the Kennett Branch of The Women's Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital. We welcome new volunteers. Anyone in the shop will be happy to give you information about joining the auxiliary.
Q: Why do you raise funds for a hospital?
A: We are proud of the health services Chester County Hospital provides to the community and want to assist with that effort. Funds raised by the various branches of the Women's Auxiliary are used to help the Hospital obtain items that might not normally be in its budget.
