A foundation of faith and a calling to serve our country and local community, have inspired Rob and Kate Miller to raise their young sons to embrace a sense of service and selflessness.
After completing twelve years of active military service, Rob quickly discovered that he missed the service element of the Marine Corps. When he began looking for volunteer opportunities, Rob was encouraged by Michael and Elizabeth Drummond to become involved with Chester County Hospital. Michael is a mentor to Rob and is the majority shareholder of the company where Rob works, and Elizabeth is a former President of the Women's Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital.
Rob shared: "We feel it's important to contribute our time, energy, and money to causes that share our values and make an impact locally. Chester County Hospital's commitment to respect and care for our community resonates with us. The hospital team does an amazing job putting others first. Selfishly, being able to serve at CCH has been a super rewarding experience. We look forward to sharing the opportunity to volunteer with our sons."
Chester County Hospital has played an important role in the Miller family. In Rob’s words: "With two young and energetic sons, our family has been well-served as patients on multiple occasions. We're blessed to have such an amazing resource right down the street! Kate and I can't think of a more enthusiastic demonstration of support than trusting Chester County Hospital with our children. From violent viruses and cooking accidents, to broken bones and standard out-patient procedures, we've spent minutes, hours, late nights, and overnights at the hospital. We're grateful for the wonderful care we've received. Our sons seem to be scared of alarmingly few things in life, so we expect to continue to lean on the hospital's services."
"We're proud to be volunteers and donors to such an important resource in this community. For my wife and I, it means we worry less about our sons. When they climb trees, run through the street barefoot and do backflips into the swimming pool, we're a little less anxious knowing a world-class hospital is within a two-mile drive. Sometimes I have enough trust to climb a tree or do a flip myself!"
Rob explained the significance of giving back in many ways. "While we believe strongly in the gifts of time and talent, we also recognize the importance of financial contributions and are excited to be a part of Chester County Hospital's recent developments and expansion. We're proud to contribute to the hospital's ability to stay in the forefront of medical innovation and provide the best care possible to our community."
Chester County Hospital is grateful to Rob and Kate Miller for their service and support...and for raising the next generation of volunteers!
