"The more hands we have, the lighter the work. The more talents and resources we can call on, the more we can do for the hospital." A timeless quote from Lisa Finnegan, Vice President of The Women's Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital. An action-oriented volunteer, Lisa has been donating her time and talents with the Women's Auxiliary since 2011 when she began photographing fundraising events for Chester County Hospital and became a member of the Greystone Branch of the Women's Auxiliary.
Over the course of the past ten years, Lisa's photography has helped document and promote Auxiliary sponsored events, which benefit the hospital. Her various leadership roles have advanced both membership and the initiatives championed by the Auxiliary. Her philanthropic work has also inspired her husband Todd's business, ACS Services LLC, to provide corporate sponsorships for many of the Auxiliary's annual fundraising events, including Crush Cancer Wine Festival, Chester County Day House Tour and Beef, Beer & Boogie.
In recent years, Lisa has managed the Facebook pages and social media communications for Auxiliary events, and shared her organizational skills via the online volunteer management tool "SignUpGenius". She has been instrumental in collaborating with hospital team members to manage the logistics and volunteer needs for many special events and initiatives at Chester County Hospital...especially during the COVID-19 Pandemic. During spring 2020, Lisa donated countless hours to the hospital to help facilitate thermal screening processes and help coordinate hundreds of food donations for the front line health care team. Hospital team members who managed these special initiatives expressed their gratitude for Lisa's efforts, "Lisa gives so much of her time to help support the hospital. We could not organize the details around many of these projects without her help!"
In addition to all the ways the Finnegan family supports the hospital, in May 2020 Lisa and Todd celebrated their wedding anniversary by donating 50 boxed dinners to Chester County Hospital clinicians and staff.
Reflecting on the occasion, Lisa shared: "Todd and I were brainstorming how we wanted to make our 30th Anniversary special (during a pandemic). We decided that we could support a local restaurant and the hospital at the same time. We had fun making our take-out meal plans for that evening...in a way, it felt like the health care team at the hospital was celebrating our anniversary with us, even though they were unaware of it."
Lisa and Todd Finnegan are part of the "secret-sauce" of dedicated team members, volunteers, community members, and local businesses that support the mission of Chester County Hospital. We are grateful for the time, talent and resources they invest in the health and wellbeing of our family, friends, and neighbors in Chester County, PA.
