In 2017 and 2018, Chester County Hospital was named by IBM Watson Health™, as a 100 Top U.S. Hospital. Only a handful of other Pennsylvania health care organizations have received this honor. Being named among the 100 Top Hospitals recognizes Chester County Hospital as a high-performing community health care provider. This honor highlights the work our employees and staff have achieved to reach national benchmarks for patient care, operational efficiency and financial stability.

In response to this recognition, Michael Duncan, President/CEO, said, “Being recognized reflects the excellent patient-centered care our staff and employees provide.  My thanks go out to each and every one of our many great employees for this honor.”

To conduct the 100 Top Hospitals study,  researchers evaluated over 2,000 short-term, acute care, non-federal hospitals. They used public information — Medicare cost reports, Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MEDPAR) data, and core measures and patient satisfaction data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Compare website. Hospitals do not apply for awards, and winners do not pay to market this honor.
